Fast-Reimburse Program for breast milk donors is implemented

Our mission is to get all premature infants access to an exclusive human milk diet, but we must first meet the needs of our donors. Every step of the recruiting, screening, and reimbursement process is being rethought to prioritize the mental and physical needs of our donors.

As part of our commitment to reimagine human milk-based products from the ground up, we’re excited to release the next iterative improvement of our donor screening process: our new Fast-Reimburse Program.

“In a traditional job, workers are paid every two weeks. There is a direct correlation between work completed and compensation. Employees of our company wouldn’t accept payment six or eight weeks later, and neither should our donor moms,” shared Chelly Snow, Co-Founder and COO of LactaLogics. “We wanted the women who donate their breast milk to be valued for their work, and reimbursing them promptly is a way to honor their contribution.”

Our donors are moms of healthy infants who are able to produce excess breast milk. In addition to taking care of a newborn, they must receive their doctor’s approval, their pediatrician’s approval, and then pass our comprehensive screening tests. This is on top of eating healthy food, pumping, cleaning pump parts, and then packaging and sending their human milk to LactaLogics.

Our Fast-Reimburse Program ensures that they are paid for their breast milk within two weeks of receiving it. Payment is most-often given through electronic distribution, so moms receive payment even faster while avoiding the hassle of depositing paper checks.

“The release of our Fast-Reimburse Program is just the next improvement of many that we hope to make,” continued Snow. “I want our donor moms to know that they are valued and I’m proud that we are leading the industry in holistic donor care.”
