We recently completed our first commercial-scale pilot run of human milk at the TetraPak Pilot Plant located in Denton, Texas.
The breast milk used during this run was acquired through donor moms participating in our donor-first, holistic support program and then pooled at the Nevada Center for Applied Research (NCAR) located at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR).

“The completion of our first commercial-scale processing run allowed us to validate that Gentle-UHT can successfully scale,” explained Glenn Snow, CEO and Co-Founder of LactaLogics. “We’re now entering the planning stage for our second pilot run, but will need significantly larger pooling capabilities to support this effort.”
Donor procurement for the second pilot run is already underway.
“We’re excited to continue our partnership with LactaLogics,” shared Carlos Cardillo, NCAR Director. “The research being conducted will be able to introduce never-before-seen technology and advancements in the field of neonatal nutrition. UNR is proud of our contribution to this effort.”
Premature infants in NICUs need higher protein milk to achieve healthy growth. The second pilot run will utilize a milk analyzer to give us the ability to make both 18 and 20 calorie 100% human milk-based, creating flexible protein and calorie options at commercial scale.
“It’s great to see our partnership with UNR continuing,” said Snow. “We are scaling up our material acquisition and staff and now we will have the expanded pooling capabilities we need.”
Results from the second pilot run will be released once completed.
